Aqua Creation’s mesmerizing silk lamps really blew us away at this year’s New York Design Week. Their “Gail” collection is a series of beautiful suspended mobiles made using hand-dyed and treated crushed silk. The delicate material is drawn over black metal frames and illuminated from within with an energy-efficient CFL bulb, creating a graceful structure.

There’s a lot of elegance in Aqua Creations. It seems that the lamps float. But I went to ICFF looking for news to inspire and I saw something that caught my attention in a tiny little booth.
